Sovjets ordered (?) from Wärtsilä Turku shipyard six steamers for The Red China. The ships were "RIGEL type" and delivered from Turku to China under Finnish flag and by Finnish crew 1955 - 1956. They were handed over to some Finnish shipping company that took care of managing and chartering during the voyage. Reason for Finnish registering maybe was to avoid attacks of Taiwan troops.
