1948.6: OLAV RINGDAL JR., Olav Ringdal's Tankrederi A/S, Oslo. 1953.1.23 rescued the crew of Finnish TIRRENIA 145 nm east of Port Sudan. The TIRRENIA was proceeding from Constanta to China, loaded with UN embargo cargo: arms and ammunition, ammonium nitrate & general cargo. The TIRRENIA broke into fire and later the ship vanished by ammunition explosion. 1954.11.27: OLAV RINGDAL JR., explosion and fire in front of engine room when taking ballast after discharging crude oil from Persian Gulf in the Queens Dock Swansea. Three sailors died and twelve injured. The bow and stern were cut in two and towed to Harland & Wolff's Liverpool shipyard. 1955.5.: repairs completed.
1960: OLAV, homeport Mariehamn. Ångfartygs Ab Alfa (Lundqvist Rederierna) Mariehamn.
1968.12: acquired by N. R. Bugges Skibs-A/S & A/S Hektor (N. R. Bugge), Tønsberg. Converted to bulk carrier at Framnæs mek. Verksted, Sandefjord. Original forepart towed to Grimstad where scrapped. Replaced by forepart of Norwegian tanker ETNEFJELL, built 1950 by Erkisbergs MV. 1968.10.31 ETNEFJELL exploded and burned in North Atlantic waters. 30 crewmembers died. ETNEFJELL aft part was scrapped at Sandefjord. 1969.4: BESNA, bulker 16550 dwt,11502 GRT, same owners 1971.10: SCAPROAD, Cassiopi Shipping Co SA, Piraeus 1974.3: KEN LUNG, Ken Hieng Navigation (Panama) Corp SA, Panama 1977.7.3: enroute Visakhapatnam - Japan loaded with pig iron foundered west of Andaman and Nicobar Islands 12.01.30N / 92.37.30E.
